The walls were formed using a construction method called Polysteel. Polysteel blocks
are made of steel and compressed foam. As you can see from the
pictures below, these blocks start out hollow. First, the blocks are put together
with wire and steel reinforcing bar in the vertical and horizontal cells.
Next, the walls are filled with concrete leaving a structure similar to
a large concrete waffle. The exterior surfaces of the building are covered with
brick and block veneer; the interior with 5/8 inch thick, fire-resistant gypsum
board.
