Our Mission

To enhance the quality of public safety services for the citizens of Smith County, Texas, by enabling PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) to directly or indirectly handle all 911 emergency calls for service, dispatching trained first responders and equipment resources to incidents requiring Law Enforcement, Fire, or Emergency Medical Services in a prompt, courteous, professional and standardized manner; thereby saving lives, protecting property, preventing and prosecuting crime, minimizing fire loss and loss of human life while maintaining accurate information for our user agencies.

District Profile

The Smith County 9-1-1 Communications District serves the citizens of Smith County as a political district of the State of Texas. This District was voted in by the citizens of Smith County in April of 1986. The purpose of this District is to design, implement, and administer an enhanced 9-1-1 system.
